Ali Shah continues to show excellent batting form to
score back to back fifty and Naveed Sehrai continues
bowling and Ghufran Ali also score timely fifty
to guided Halton Stars to a win against Peel India.
Oakville/Burlington, Ontario June 14th, 2009
Captain Ali Shah, Ghufran Ali and Abreez Gul carried the
bulk of the scoring and Naveed Sehrai and HSCC bowling
troops guided Halton Stars to another win against Peel
India at Dixie ground. Ali Shah holding on from the
first ball and then Ghufran Ali joined at 2 down to stop
yet another claps of opening order.
The Halton Stars won the toss and elected to bat. Peel
India was successful in breaking the opening partnership
quickly as out of form Naveed Sehrai once again caught
for 2 runs on the board and Varun Seth playing his first
game fall right after and Halton Stars were 2 wickets
down for only 5 runs on the board. Ghufran Ali joined
Ali Shah and played patiently to settle down while Ali
Shah beginning to cut loose. While Ali was hitting
boundaries, Ghufran was taking timely singles and
doubles and provided an excellent 165 runs partnership.
Ali Shah Scored 70 runs with the help of 7 fours and
Ghufran Ali Scored 50 runs.
HSCC middle order supported the Ali and Ghufran
partnership as Bilal Khan score 14 runs and Mubasher
Waheed 19 runs and Abreez Gul came to bat at 7 and
played an excellent inning of 34 runs that helped Halton
Stars to reach 240 runs all out.
Naveed Sehrai and She Khan open the HSCC attack and as
usual Peel India batting order was no match as Naveed
and Sher clean up the opening order in just 6 overs and
it seems that HSCC will bowled out Peel India soon,
however, Manish, Rasik and Kulbir showed some resistance
and played well to frustrate Halton Stars team, finally
HSCC were able to bowled out Peel India for 193 runs won
the game by 47 runs.
Bowling anchor Naveed Sehrai took 3 wickets for 40 runs
while Sher Khan and Ali chip in with 2 wickets and Farid
Siddiqui, Bilal Khan and Ghufran Ali chip in with 1
wicket each.
Ali Shah, Ghufran Ali and Naveed Sehrai were the Players
of the game.
