Bilal
Khan and Sher Khan excellent performance and Captain
Farid strategy spins Halton stars-B to another win.
Burlington, Ontario:
Halton
Stars won the toss and elected to bat first. Kaleem Arif
and Danish Bashir opened the inning, Danish as usual
started off well with a six in the first over however
could not continue the hitting parade and was clean
bowled in the next over for 10 runs. Adeel Siddiqi
joined Kaleem but was bowled on the first ball. Bilal
khan came on to bat at #4 and as Halton Stars inning
started to settle down, Kaleem Arif was bowled for four
runs.
This
claps of opening batting order cause some headache for
captain Farid, Farrukh Siddiqui joined Bilal and
provided much needed stand and a strong partnership that
lasted for over 90 runs, before Bilal Khan was caught at
long off for fine 57 runs that included four sixes and
four fours.
Once
again middle order batting claps as Kashif, Sher Khan
and Varun stepped on the crease and went back to
pavilion quickly, however, young Sikander Sheikhani
stepped in at #9 and played well to get the score pass
130 runs with Farrukh Siddiqui still on the crease but
Farrukh got caught for 20 runs, Captain Farid joined
Sikander and provided a good stand this partnership
carried the score to 168 runs. Sikander was out for 25
runs.
Halton Stars attacked the Cosmos CC right from the first
ball as Sher Khan got two quick wickets in the first two
overs. From this point on Captain Farid played his
tricks from the back pocket, first he got his team
united to fight the low score, then keep changing the
bowler as they get into trouble and this strategy paid
off as wicket started to fell on regular interval and
Cosmos were all out for 127 runs.
Sher
Khan was the most successful bowler with four wickets,
Sikander Sheikhani took two wickets on five balls,
Bilal, Farid and Ali Abbas chip in with one wicket each
to close out the inning.
