Game Reports--August 02, 2008

In a match dominated by not one but two teams bowlers. First Malton Sports Club completely destroyed the Halton Stars high scoring batting line-up, then HSCC-A Ghufran and Bilal shattered Malton Batting order and bowl to the script to help HSCC-A with their best win.

Burlington, Ontario: Halton Stars-A won the toss and choose to bat first on the wet pitch and cloudy day and it back fired as inspired Malton Sports Club Bowlers attacked the HSCC-A batting order right from the 1st ball and successfully manage to get Naveed Sehrai caught at point on the last ball of the first over. Down fall of the Batting order continued as Khalid Gilani, Bilal Khan and Imran ul Haq were back to pavilion with only 11 runs on the board.

Only Ghufran Ali and Danish Bashir were able to sustain the excellent bowling spell of the Malton Sports Bowlers and mange to get the score to respectable 91 runs. Fayaz Patel, took 4 wickets for 28 runs, Shohail Kazi 2 wickets for 13 runs and Varish Shaikh 2 wickets for 8 runs.

Halton Stars determined attacking bowlers Naveed and Ali Abbas aggressively attack the Malton opening batting order and received complete team effort from the highly motivated team effort to stop singles. Bilal replace Ali and quickly broke the opening partner ship in his first over. Then spin magician Ghufran Ali was brought in after 15 over and wicket started to fall on regular interval as Bilal continue to support Ghufran by taking two more wicket in his second spell.

The task was not over yet as Malton needed 9 runs to win with 2 wicket in hand, at this dramatic time, Nadeem Mahmood took a diving catch on Ghufran ball and then Ali Abbas was brought in and he bowled the last batsman on the 1st ball of his second spell to guide Halton Stars to a victory. Bilal took four wickets for 18 runs and Ghufran took three wickets for 13 runs, Sher Khan and Ali Abbas chip in with one wicket each.

It was a total team effort that rescued the Halton Stars to win in a bowlers dominated low scoring match.
